An individual with a Green Card has the right to live and work permanently in the United States of America.
Green Card holders are entitled to depart U.S. on vacation or to visit family in other parts of the world. However, there are
limitations on how long an immigrant can stay outside of the United States without losing permanent resident status.
A document called a Reentry Permit must be obtained from the USCIS in many cases.
